About Me
I was born in and have spent most of my life in Macedonia, a relatively small country on the Balkan Peninsula in Europe. Discovering my passion for electronics and engineering by the end of middle school, I spent most of my high school career working on a variety of projects (either as an independent hobby or as officially sponsored government grants).
The 2 government sponsored projects were especially valuable to me, as they allowed me to truly experience a professional engineering environment and be further entranced with the entire process.
The first major project however, holds a particularly high importance in my life. I consider it the start of my journey to where I am now, and it introduced me to a variety of concepts that have been repeatedly proven useful. The project itself was a bicycle generator that was more of an educational tool for promoting the eco-friendly use of electricity.
The second major project was biological research studying mealworms and their ability to digest polystyrene and convert it into biodegradable material. For this project I designed the habitat environment for these larvae and constructed the monitoring/control system that kept environmental conditions stable within certain thresholds.
Hobby projects that I’ve worked on include: laser communication across long distances, various wearable electronics, small robotics (mainly with Arduino based microcontrollers as well as BEAM - which is more akin to biomimicry), digital logic circuits etc.
Other than projects, I was a volunteering assistant at Explorarium, the first science-oriented club for kids in Macedonia that focused on preserving the spark of curiosity that young children have and display.
I’ve also received official certification in C++, Python and C#, and have worked on personal projects such as recreating “Conway’s Game Of Life” and making short video games in Unity.
As for my career aspirations, I wish to work in the field of robotics (whether specifically related to biomimicry research, prosthetics, aerospace etc.) and I plan to contribute to this field by either joining companies such as Boston Dynamics or Nasa, or starting my own start-up or think-tank.
